This is an important service, and I would recommend it, but there needs to be more funding for mental health, in order for the service to be more accessible.
Welcome to North East Edinburgh Counselling Service. We have been here since 1995 providing counselling for the local community. Our services are available to anyone from the age of 16 who live in our catchment area of North East Edinburgh. Further informaton on each service can be found via the 'counselling' link.
Before applying to a service please check the waiting list is open and that you can attend at the times NEECS offers it's appointments. Once you have attended your initial assessment your following counselling appointments will be weekly, at the same time and on the same day. Each session lasts up to an hour.
WAITING LISTS - Due to high demand, we have reluctantly had to Close our Short Term Service waiitng list, we hope to review this at the beginning of January.
The Core Service is also currently Closed.
The 16-25 Service waiting list is OPEN.
We offer counselling on
- Mondays: 9am to last appointment 12.45pm
- Tuesdays: 9am to last appointment 4.30pm
- Wednesdays: 9am to last appointment 12.45pm
- Thursdays: 2.45pm to last appointment 6.45 pm
- Fridays: 11.30am to last appointment 12.45pm
Our limited (Thursday) evening sessions are heavily oversubscribed.
