From its birth in 1995 as a small community project, NEECS has developed into a highly regarded service.

Applications to arrive by 5pm, 26th March 2018
FTE salary is £29,084 based on 35 hours per week.
We are looking to recruit new board members and would be pleased to receive your enquiry.
The Board (all volunteers) oversees the management of NEECS and generally has about 6 full Board meetings a year. These are normally held on a Thursday from 10am to 12pm at 31 Haddington Place, Edinburgh.
Our Board members (also referred to as Trustees) bring different experiences and views and each is very much valued. There may also be the opportunity to participate on particular issues as part of a sub group, according to your interests and availability. Our previous Annual Reports are held on the website under the Resources link and these should help provide a fuller picture of NEECS and our Board's activity.
Whilst NEECS has to fulfil the requirements of a SCIO charity as set down by OSCR (Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator www.oscr.org.uk ), our meetings aim to be friendly, enabling you to participate as and when you feel ready. It is not necessary for you to have experience of boards or management.
We are, at this particular time, also seeking a Board member with experience of accounts, willing to consider the role of Treasurer.
If you are interested in joining our Board of Trustees we would be delighted to hear from you. Please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org providing your contact details (including address) and briefly outlining your interest in undertaking a Board voluntary role at NEECS. Or call us on 0131 557 4478 if you prefer.
We shall subsequently arrange an informal meeting with the service manager, Mairi Norman and another board member, to support an informal conversation, answer any questions and discuss matters further.
If after this meeting, you decide you would like to pursue joining us as a Trustee, you would first have to become a member of NEECS, sign a trustee declaration form confirming you are legally eligible to be a charity trustee and additionally provide us with contact details of your 2 referees. We are looking forward to hearing from you.
Currently there are no vacancies.
Counsellors wishing to work with the service are required to have completed diploma level training, and have 2 years post quailifing experience in providing contracted one to one counselling.
