Working with the Service

Board Members

The Board (all volunteers) oversees the management of NEECS and generally has about 6 full Board meetings a year. These are normally held on a Thursday from 10am to 12pm at 31 Haddington Place, Edinburgh.

Our Board members (also referred to as Trustees) bring different experiences and views and each is very much valued. There may also be the opportunity to participate on particular issues as part of a sub group, according to your interests and availability. Our previous Annual Reports are held on the website under the Resources link and these should help provide a fuller picture of NEECS and our Board's activity.

Whilst NEECS has to fulfil the requirements of a SCIO charity as set down by OSCR (Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator ), our meetings aim to be friendly, enabling you to participate as and when you feel ready. It is not necessary for you to have experience of boards or management.

By providing NEECS with requested details for your working with the service you are confirming you agree to NEECS using these details as required for our Service Delivery.  NEECS will only use your details for this purpose. All NEECS staff fully abide by NEECS Confidentiality Requirements.

We are, at this particular time, seeking a Board member with specific experience of accounts, willing to consider taking up the role of Treasurer. If you are interested in this role,  email us on providing contact details (including address) and briefly outlining your interest in undertaking this voluntary role at NEECS.  Or call us on 0131 557 4478 if you prefer.

If agreed, we can arrange an  informal meeting with the service manager, Mairi Norman and another board member, to support an informal conversation, answer any questions and discuss matters further.

If after this meeting, you decide you would like to pursue joining us as a Trustee, you would first have to become a member of NEECS, sign a trustee declaration form confirming you are legally eligible to be a charity trustee and additionally provide us with contact details of your 2 referees. We are looking forward to hearing from you.
